Anaya Davis (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who specializes in working with children and adolescents ages 4–19 who are navigating trauma, anxiety, mood challenges, behavior changes, and school or family stress. She uses Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), play therapy, and expressive arts to help young people express themselves in ways that feel natural and engaging. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. Anaya believes healing begins when youth feel seen, heard, and empowered, and she works to create a safe, affirming space—especially for LGBTQIA+ youth, neurodivergent kids, and clients from diverse cultural and family backgrounds. She partners with caregivers when appropriate to build practical tools for regulation, connection, and resilience at home and at school.

In her work, Anaya focuses on strengthening each child’s coping skills, sense of self, and capacity for playfulness and hope, even in the midst of difficult life experiences.

More About anaya

Anaya Davis (she/her) is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who works with children and adolescents ages 4–19, supporting them through a variety of emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. She is especially passionate about helping young people move through trauma, anxiety, mood concerns, school-related stress, and identity exploration in ways that feel safe, affirming, and age-appropriate.

Anaya primarily utilizes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), play therapy, and expressive arts techniques, integrating story, movement, and creative expression to meet clients where they are and engage them in ways that feel natural and meaningful. She collaborates closely with caregivers and other supports when appropriate, helping families better understand their child’s experiences and develop practical tools to foster regulation, connection, and resilience at home and in school settings.

Anaya believes that healing begins when individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered. She creates a safe and supportive environment where young clients can explore their emotions, express themselves freely, and develop tools for growth and resilience. Her approach is rooted in culturally responsive care and a holistic perspective, honoring each client’s identity, relationships, and lived experiences as part of the therapeutic process. Anaya is committed to affirming LGBTQIA+ youth, neurodivergent clients, and children from diverse cultural and family backgrounds, ensuring that therapy reflects who they are—not who they are “supposed” to be.

Whether a child is navigating big feelings, behavioral changes, grief or loss, or the impact of trauma, Anaya walks alongside them with warmth, curiosity, and respect. She strives to help each young person build a stronger sense of self, increase coping skills, and reconnect with their capacity for playfulness, creativity, and hope.
